The lush world of Aurora Sage

I’ve always been someone who could find the silver lining in the darkest, most ominous cloud - and not just find it, but alchemize it into something beautiful. It’s a life theme for me. Possibly a Scorpio thing. And it’s from this very place that Aurora Sage was born.

At the most inopportune time (or perhaps the most perfect time, depending how you look at it), I decided to start a small business. When inspiration strikes, you have no choice but to respond.

I had a toddler and a newborn in tow, and we had just moved into our brand new house. Within two months a massive pipe burst and flooded the entire home. Overnight, we packed up our lives and began what would become a months long odyssey. First, we landed in a cramped one bedroom hotel - not exactly a dream setup for a family with an infant. Eventually, after much negotiation with insurance, we moved into a rental home in the area.

This rental home turned out to be a dream itself, impeccably designed and filled with stunning artwork. It was the kind of space that feels like a divine wink, placed in your path for a reason. Inspiration was everywhere.

At the time, I was only a few months postpartum, not yet fitting into my usual wardrobe. That postpartum phase can feel strange - like you’re living in a body you don’t fully recognize. It’s not always the sexiest or most glamorous moment in a woman’s life. But instead of hiding from it, I decided to dress for the life I wanted. I made myself a silk caftan (a rainbow of watercolors I envisioned during a meditation) to glide through the halls of this beautiful house.

I sourced silk, experimented (briefly) with conventional dyes, but the harsh chemical smell felt wrong. With my background in holistic nutrition, plant dyeing felt far more aligned, so I taught myself.

What began as a personal ritual (dressing myself in beauty amidst chaos) quickly became something more. Between midnight feedings, toddler wrangling, contractor meetings, and endless insurance calls, I created my own little lush world. The silks became my armor, my magic cloak, my portal back to myself.

Word spread organically. A few mom friends asked for silks of their own. One piece was gifted to an LA boutique owner, who fell in love with the flower-dyed fabric and asked to carry them in her store. That was the moment Aurora Sage truly took root. If these silks could empower and inspire me, could they do the same for other women?

I believe nothing makes you feel more royal than silk.

Since those early days, my Aurora Sage vision has grown now encompassing scent, scrunchies, pillowcases, and other small luxuries, each infused with the same intention: to adorn the everyday with beauty. And there’s so much more coming.

Stay tuned - this is only the beginning.
