Flowers, Silk, and an Afternoon at Aurora Sage
A couple weekends ago, I opened my home for a small Aurora Sage gathering to welcome spring through flowers, silk, scent, music, food, and botanical dyeing.
I’ve done workshops and events with stores in the past, but I’ve always wanted to create something inside my own world. Something more intimate, immersive, and personal. A space where people could step into the atmosphere of Aurora Sage in a real, tactile way.
The dining table was covered in fresh blooms. Silk pillowcases bundled with petals and leaves. Pots steaming in the kitchen for hours while everyone gathered around creating, drinking sparkling wine and fresh squeezed grapefruit juice from the garden, eating charcuterie, and slowly watching the colors reveal themselves while Aurora Sage candles burned throughout the house. Truly such a vibe.
It felt lush, intimate, and creatively immersive.
What I love most about botanical dyeing is that no two pieces ever emerge the same way. The flowers imprint themselves unpredictably into the silk, making every piece entirely one of one. Part process, part experiment, part alchemy.
There’s something deeply satisfying about creating beauty with your hands alongside other women. Especially in a world that moves so quickly online. The tactile experience of working with flowers, fabric, scent, color, and steam felt grounding in a way that’s difficult to replicate digitally.
Everyone left with silk pillowcases stained by flowers, each carrying the memory of the afternoon inside the fabric itself.
The response to the gathering was honestly overwhelming in the best way, so I’ll be hosting another Aurora Sage gathering at my home in Los Angeles this June with very limited spots available. I would love for you to join!
I’m excited to continue expanding these gatherings through future Aurora Sage events, private workshops, and creative collaborations.
