What Is Beauty? Reflections Beneath the Pink Moon

What is beauty?

What is art?

These questions floated through my mind as I wandered the halls of the museum—one of my favorite ways to spend a Friday (which is ruled by the planet Venus). I try to mark Fridays with something beautiful… a small indulgence in art, scent, beauty, or pleasure. Something that reconnects me to the feminine current, to the creative pulse that flows beneath everything.

I feel so blessed to live in a large city like Los Angeles, full of culture. Where you can spontaneously slip into a museum, get swept into an exhibit, and leave changed.

That’s exactly what I did.

And the answer I kept circling back to as I moved from piece to piece was this:

Beauty is anything that makes you feel something.

Art is the language of emotion. A message. A mirror. A spell.

It doesn’t have to be “pretty.” It doesn’t have to follow convention. In fact, some of the most unforgettable pieces I encountered were the ones that broke every rule—sculptures made from salvaged objects, paintings adorned with pins and strands of hair, textures that defied category, creations that turned me on with their rawness and presence.

I felt myself vibrating from being in their company.

Each piece was a channel—an offering from one soul to another. An intimate gesture. A bridge.

And I realized how deeply this ties into the way I create. How I communicate beauty through my work. Whether through silk soaked in rose and root, or scent layered with memory and emotion—it’s all art. It’s all a kind of transmission.

This experience stretched my mind to the possibilities:

What else is available to me as an artist?

How else might I speak through form?

This full moon in Libra—pink, radiant, and reflective—carries the energy of beauty, balance, and relationship. It invites us to revisit how we think about art and beauty… and how we see ourselves as the creators of our lives.

You don’t have to be an artist by trade to be an artist in your world.

Every gesture, every choice, every corner you make sacred…

That’s art.

Every time you move through the world as beauty, as soul embodied…

That’s art.

And beauty is not just decoration.

It’s a force. A message. A remembering.

Wishing you a pink moon full of feeling, creation, and connection.
